“PENHAPenha Hill is of peculiar attraction to many. T is famous for its century-old chapel, which itself replaced na old hermitage dating from the early days of the colony. Here will also found a replica of the Grotto of Lourdes, built by a former bishop of Macao, who had a special devotion to Our Lady of Lourdes, the miraculous cures at whose shrine in France are know throughout the world.
The beautiful bay of the famous Praia Grande seen from this vantage point is, probably, the most delightful scene about or in Macao. From the city heights beautiful views of the city of Macao can be obtained. The forts and churches rise above the surrounding chequerboards of roofs, and one wonders at the combination of Eastern and Western architecture.
